Nope I don't have an issue with rusty screws. You should oil em or something when you put it away.

What wrenches are you using to take your apart with? it makes a big differance.

Anything that is not stainless steel will rust. Get a wire brush and brush the rust off the screws and use a scotchbrite pad to remove the rust from your hinge pins. It is very easy and will not take long, rust will come right off.

Hey thx for the reactions

I use normal wrenches a have a few sets.

I contacted the distributor and the hinchpins are gonna be replaced.
About the screws there will be contact between him and HPI-Europe about the rust-issue.

Any black steel screw will rust. Especially on the bottom of the chassis. Stainless screws are soft and will strip even easier. Screws on the bottom of the chassis are prone to much more abuse than any other. To help with the issue:
Use a chassis protector sheet
Make sure ALL of the dirt is out of the screw head before you attempt to unscrew
Make sure your wrench tips are sharp and in good condition
Just for the record I have yet to strip a screw on either of my Blitz's.
.
.
Another tip is when you clean your truck, if you use copious amounts of water be sure and coat the truck with WD40 or a similar lubricant, let it sit for a few minutes and then blow off with an air hose. Your plastic will look new again, hinge pins will get lubed, all the water will be replaced, etc.. It is very good practice. Hope this helps.

just wire brush them and hit them with some rustoleum. any color you like! i took some scrap teflon from my shop and made tiny teflon plugs to fit in the screws on the bottom of the chassis. can of tool handle hot dip works too, as well as for waterproofing electronics. it peels off pretty easily when you need it too.

Try cleaning your car once in a while and not driving it in the bath tub. I blow mine off with a air compressor after every run and have never had rust or stripped screws. Sounds like your stripping the heads and not the threads. Try using quality tools that are hardened like Ofna not Harbor Freight and prob solved

i clean and oil after every run...its just part of racing...i also bought at an office supply store laminate paper to cover the bottom of the chassis...works great and keeps the dirt out of the screw heads

Are you running in the sand?? A few of my stock screws did rust as well, I have since replaced all of my screws with the Tony's Screw's Blitz Kit..

Well worth the investment! I've ran Tony's Screw Kits on almost all of my rc's from the Hpi Baja to the Blitz..
